About Us........

Us is the BPA, the Bill Pullman Anonymous. We were organized in October 1996 by a Canadian fan, just after Bill’s big score as President Thomas Whitmore in the blockbuster Independence Day. She contacted everyone who had written comments about Bill’s films on Catie Chan’s Original Bill Pullman Homepage and Heather’s (Que Pasa) big website. Needless to say, even at that point,  there were a lot of folks out in cyberspace who were itching to connect with other fans. As a group, we groped around for an appropriate name.  Many of those first fans wished to remain anonymous for whatever reasons, and so the name BPA was selected. Our Canadian organizer registered all these Bill fans with squidge.org, and the first Bill Pullman online fan club/admiration society got started.

Why do some of us choose to remain anonymous? Well, the BPA is an eclectic group. We are male and female, young and old, married and single, students and workers and stay-at-home moms, American, Canadian, Australian, European, and Asian. Some of us were just a tad embarrassed, particularly those in more mature years, that they had gone ga-ga over some movie star and were joining a "fan club." So, in order to indulge in a guilty pleasure and true passion and to express our devotion, we sign ourselves with nicknames, "handles", initials, or nothing.  But most are loud and proud of their passion, and boldly proclaim themselves so.

With the advent of websites and technological offerings for folks to congregate on a single topic, a second listserv, bpullman@egroups.com,  (formerly onelist.com) was born in 1998. The BPA and bpullman are pretty much the same in terms of membership, though the two have yet to combine into one big list. Perhaps that will happen some day.

About billpullman.org and its webmistresses…….

Several of the excellent websites devoted to Bill went out of existence in the last few years—Heather went off to college, Emily and Alice (billpullman.com) ran out of money, and Catie graduated from Penn and elected not to keep her site going.  So three seasoned BPAers decided it was time to do something in the way of getting the definitive, boss site going for Bill.  It started with Lorraine and Diana in August 1998.  {Isn’t the internet wonderful?   Lorraine and Diana live 8000 miles apart, and the BPA pulled them together to become fast and devoted friends.}  Diana went to Dallas, TX on a work-related trip and met Liz and Juanita, two more BPA members.  Over dinner and then many e-mails later, this website was created.  Liz, God bless her, found a deal on a host server and took care of the financial end with contributions from the other three, and did 95% of the initial programming.   A couple of software packages later, the billpullman.org site continues to evolve through (mostly) trial and error, late night/early morning programming and writing, much cussing at FrontPage 98, contributions from other talented and involved BPA members such as Ildi (the video Snappy lady) and Mary Anne (the writer and actor who knows great acting when she sees it), Liz’s husband's  Bernie’s computer expertise, and just a helluva lot of devotion to the cause.

We're always open to suggestions, contributions, ideas, gushing, and compliments.  We also welcome criticisms, but remember, we do this with a lot of love and not a whole lot of anything else.

We don't know if Bill Pullman has ever seen our effort, and that's okay if he hasn't.  We receive no compensation from Bill nor do we want it.  This is for all the fans, just like us.  Enjoy!

The Webmistresses (just in case you're really interested)

(hey, this is our site--we can do this if we want)

Howdy Partners,

It's just little ol' me from Dallas, Texas, transplanted from Bogalusa, Louisiana in 1974. And no, that's not a disease!! I have been a dedicated Pullmanite since "While You Were Sleeping". I have really enjoyed following Bill's career and do cherish the many acquaintances I have met along the way from being a member of the BPOnelist and The BPA  List Serves.

Other interests are hanging out with my buddies in The Dallas Tap Dazzlers, a group of twenty-two ladies tapping our way across Texas literally kicking up our heels and getting up in the mornings to log on to see What' s New In Bill Land.

I’m Ildiko Giczi, better known in Pullmanite circles as Ildi, or the Snappy Lady. I was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, but left with my husband in search of a free life in ‘88, two years before the Berlin Wall came down. After spending a few years trying to fit in and learning a totally different way of life we settled in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, where we now live with our two children, Daniel and Adam. I work in a modern bakery as a machine operator, but dream of getting out of there. When I’m not baking hamburger buns for Mcdonald’s, or spending time with my 3 boys :-), I can be found with my nose buried in a book, listening to music, writing, or sitting at the computer corresponding with other Pullmanites, snapping/creating pictures for this fantastic website, or debating with hubby whether our new desktop theme should be the newest model of the BMW series, or my favorite thespian, the lovely and very talented Bill Pullman.

My name is Liz Crisostomo and I was born in the Philippines, but left for the US when I was 9. As former cheesehead and die-hard Packer fan (that means Wisconsin) , I've lived in Texas for the past 15 years. I have 2 beautiful kids, Kyle (12) and Megan (7) and an indulgent, patient husband. My whole family has been put to work on this web site. My daughter snaps pictures from his movies while my husband makes thumbnails. Which is good as I normally work as a marketing manager for a telecom company for cash!  Doing this site has been a great learning experience and a chance to meet lots of new people.   When I'm not spending time with family or talking with all of my online friends about Bill, I'm doing step aerobics and yoga, shoe shopping or watching films.

I am dlrs (a.k.a. Diana), the Czarina of the Film Page.  I am a  child of the 60's,  a Southerner (living in the mountains of western NC), and a survivor of the public education system in Louisiana.  When not  surfing the net, hiking, visiting Montana, and watching Law & Order and Bill's films, I work in a historical society.  I am the very proud mom of Connell (10) and Patrick (7)[here  I am with them] and the bpullman list-serv. My long-suffering husband, also a Bill, puts up with my slavish devotion to another man.

My name is Heather, and I'm the newest contributor to billpullman.org.    I stumbled upon this page after watching everybody's favorite, WYWS, and have been a fan of the man and the page ever since.

I'm a computer systems specialist at a college in Southern California, and program web pages in my spare time.  I'm always honored when the bp.org  web mistresses ask me to contribute to such a great page!!

Mary Anne.jpg (50762 bytes)

My name is Mary Anne (Cochrane-McIvor). I am a native of Philadelphia where we are having a wonderful renaissance of live theater and lots of feature films are being made. I live here with my husband and we are the proud parents of 3 children: Charlotte, Eamon, and Benjamin. Jack (beagle) & Calvin (basset hound) are part of the family too.

At present I am a freelance writer/editor. I am also bravely learning web-site design with the help of my patient, very knowledgeable husband. I have been a Writing/English teacher, a book editor, and a stay-at-home Mom. A lifelong interest in acting and theater led me to be a founding member and Executive Committee member of The Actors’ Group in Philadelphia. Most recently, I played Claire in Neil Simon’s “Rumors”. My hobbies are: acting & theater, movies, baking, and travel. Since the early 1990’s I have been a fan of the amazingly versatile and creative Bill Pullman. I am proud to write for this wonderful web-site and honored to work with the great people creating it.
