"Casper" Reviews

Sun-Young Lim (sylim@daewoo.dwc.co.kr) :
Bill was very cute. Louise Eidson (lbeidson@norfolk.infi.net) :
Casper is one of the sweetest movies ever. I can't help but cry my eyes out during the movie. All right, I must admit that I was a Casper fan when I was a child, but this has nothing to do with it.

Bill plays this psychologist who thinks ghosts are merely human souls with an unfinished business. He is hired by this avaricious woman who just wants the treasure hidden at some manor she inherited.

In this movie, Bill sings (That's Life, Jailhouse Rock), Bill dances, he has great physical abilities and really looks totally at ease with non-existent fellow actors. This is such a special movie. I think all true fans of Bill's would also enjoy it. A tear jerker for sure, but a pleasant one at least.

I loved the cameos at the beginning - Father Guido Sarducci and Ghostbuster Dan Aykroyd (anyone out there other than me remembers Father Gui! do from SNL???).

I hope you all enjoy this movie.

Louise. Alice Zemaitis (azemaiti@staff.uiuc.edu) :
I enjoyed this movie as well. I also had some tears during this one. Death is a subject that has always touched me deeply, and I enjoyed this sweet story of dealing with death and the loss of loved ones. I also enjoyed the cameos as well and I do remember Father Guido, Louise. He and Dan Akroyd were great! I thought Bill showed how great both his comedic and dramatic abilities were in this movie. I was especially impressed with his physical comedic abilities in this one!!! This is a great one to see if you're a Bill Pullman fan. dlrs (dlrs@rmh.com) :
It looks like I'm the first mom to review this here. My kids (5.5 and 2) have seen "Casper" several times. At first I thought #1 kid wouldn't like it because he's going through a ghost phase, but the ghosts, the 3 bad 'uns, haven't bothered him.

As an adult, Bill Pullman is the only attraction for me here. The movie doesn't really resolve anything plot wise, but I thought Bill was good as the dad/psychologist. Wish they had developed Dr. Harvey a little more as a psychologist, but hey, ultimately this is a kid movie. Samantha Lane (cfryer@ix.netcom.com) :
This one was a little quirky, but OK anyway, once again, Bill was great. Susan :
My nine year old daughter liked it and, since she was the target audience, it didn't miss the mark. Donna Wood :
Casper has a mixture of being funny, sad, and magical. My children and I all loved it and will be watching it again. Anne-Louise Wilkins (danelaw@powerup.com.au) :
Casper is a touching and tear-jerking film which explores the child within. Although this is targeted at a younger generation, everyone can still find something to enjoy. Natalie Massaglia (rolmas@erols.com) :
TALK ABOUT AN AWESOME MOVIE. I KNOW IT'S GEARED TOWARD LITTLER KIDS BUT I DON 'T CARE. IT'S AWESOME. Felicia Scott (fscott@mail.milsen.vic.edu.au):
Well, what can I say. Bill Pullman looks good in anything. I believe that Casper is one of the best movies that Bill Pullman has been in ever. Man, I would have loved to be his disceased wife. The lucky woman she is. Oh well, who cares, I can always dream that one day Bill Pullman will be mine.

This film is so fantastic. Especially Bill Pullman. He is such a gorgeous honey. Well, what can I say except that BILL PULLMAN is the best. Keri Loop (philoops@erols.com):
The only reason that I would give it a 3 and a half stars is because he looked really old. Sauce :
A truly delightful fantasy. Bill is charming and cuddly as usual. Sure wish he could be cloned!!!!!! Heather :
Casper is a very sweet and touching movie. Bill was fantastic. Dr. Harvey was one of his best characters I have ever seen. I think I liked this specific character because he was sweet, sensitive, and cute. I loved how he wasn't afraid to show that he was afraid. I also liked how for once he wasn't playing such a macho, authorative figure, but he was really kind of shy and unsure. This was all courtesy of Bill's wonderful job on playing the role. Also, Bill's singing was absolutely adorable! (So was he for that matter!) Casper was just all-around great, and it will be one of my favorites for a long time to come.

Karel (k.nieuwland@worldonline.nl): The only reason I wanted to see this film again when it was on TV is the cute apperance of Bill, he is so great and looks very intellectual with those glasses I think. Of course I also loved him as a not so smart-father and ofcourse it was great to see him as a animanted ghost, which was in my opinion one of the greatest suprises of the movie.
