(From paid critic Judith Shulvitz of the New York Times on 2 July 1996)...The real surprise of Independence Day is the
ever-underestimatable Bill Pullman, who, beneath the noise, delivers one of the more
interesting performances of the blockbuster season. Pullman is the president, an actually
likable guy, and between dodging exploding government buildings, firing conspiratorial
defense secretaries, and trying not to punch Jeff Goldblum in the glasses, he manages to imbue the role with more gravitas and sex appeal than the
strutting Michael Douglas ever did in The American President.
Pullman appears to
be the only actor who understands the movie he's in. He's not being asked to put anything
out; he's being asked to take things in. He's a bad-news-processing machine who makes a
world-historical decision a minute but still is loving and strong for his little girl when
the first lady, wounded internally in a helicopter crash, bleeds to death. Pullman, always
a rich and complicated actor, uses flatness here the way other actors use expression, and
that's appropriate, since what's happening ought to be beyond expression. His
voice--monotonal except when it cracks--makes him sound like William Holden. He's decent,
urbane, not alarmingly bright, and in his 1940s war-movie woodenness, he's the only
character with whom we can identify.

Louise Eidson (lbeidson@norfolk.infi.net) :
God I loved that movie!
Saw it three times and am making plans to see it more before I buy it. I am so enthralled with the suspense without the violence or goriness that is so prevalent in other sci-fi/action movies.
Reminds me of the feeling I had when I saw Star Wars - is it already 19 years ago
(arghhhhhhhhhh!) - seven consecutive nights. Plus, Bill is great, plays the prez without
the darn macho stuff which makes them so unlovable.
Catie Chan
(cather19@wharton.upenn.edu)
I know people have mixed opinions about this movie, but I really enjoyed it. I thought
Will Smith's character was hilarious! He definitely had the best lines. Jeff Goldblum did
a great acting job, as usual. And Bill was a great president, sensitive yet decisive and
courageous. I didn't care for his slicked back hair, but I suppose it had to look more
styled since he was the president.
The movie is a bit nationalistic and there are some holes in the plot, but overall it
is a truly enjoyable film to watch.
Sun-Young Lim
(sylim@daewoo.dwc.co.kr) :
The only merit of the movie is computer graphics.
davis (davis9@ix.netcom.com)
The problem with these movies that get so much promotion is that it's nearly impossible to
live up to its own hype. Recent examples are Batman and Jurassic Park. It's always better
for a movie to "become" popular (Star Wars, Forrest Gump). But Independence Day
pulls it off better than most. The pace of the movie is fast enough to keep us interested,
and the characters are real enough to keep us involved. I think Pullman does a great job
as the President. I know his speech may have been cheesy, but it made ME want to get up
and cheer (which is the point after all). It's not a GREAT film. It lacks the originality
of a Star Wars or Raiders of the Lost Ark. And the special effects, although good, are not
much different from what we saw 20 years ago in Star Wars. But as a whole, Independence
Day is a fun, enjoyable movie definitely worth repeated viewing.

I loves the movie! Great suspense. I have currently seen the movie three times and going
to see it for the fourth time in the next week. Can't get enough!
Great acting!
Wonderful!!!
Joy Skeldon
(jskeldon@cloudnet.com) :
Awesome movie. I've seen it thrice already, I've sworn not to see it again, since I could
have bought the movie with how much I've already paid to see it, but I doubt I will be
able to not see it again.
Bill was SO AWESOME in this one. When he was holding Patricia, with tears in his eyes, I was damn near tears myself. I think that this is Bill's second best performance. (This best, of course, being WYWS).
Joy
Vanessa
(vje1@axe.humboldt.edu) :
Absolute AWESOME movie! It was unbelievably fun! Action, adventure, and suspense. This
movie leaves a good feeling in your heart. It has a few flubs, but who cares, it was fun!
Just turn off your mind. Bill does an excellent job as our commander in chief, he gives a
great speech and makes the whole theater cheer!
I've seen it so many times, and if you haven't seen it, you should!
Laura Fleagle
(btree822@earthlink.net) :
What can I say...I loved this movie!!! I've seen it 4 times now! The whole cast did a
great job, but (although I have to admit some bias here!) Bill Pullman made the movie for
me. I loved his portrayal of the President...a strong leader, but very human at the same
time. You could really feel for him -- I found myself thinking more than once that I'd
hate to be in his position. This movie made me gain new respect for his versatility as an
actor. As for the plot...yeah, there were some holes in it, but they didn't detract from
my enjoyment of the movie. I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end! Anyone who
hasn't seen ID4 yet...it's still in theaters, go now!! Don't wait for the video.
Susan
Barkley (Barkley_S@Mercer.Peachnet.edu) :
I'd vote THIS Bill into the White House any day of this election year. ID4 was definitely
my most favorite of his movies, although I must admit, it wasn't just because of Bill. I
would have to say that WYWSleeping is the best of his movies based on the BILL factor,
although I really dug him in Mr. Wrong. I saw that one with a whole bunch of girls from
the dorm around Valentine's Day and Big Screen Bill did the job just great. We went around
for a week crooning 'I wanna know what love iiiiisss'. Yes, Bill Pullman has what it takes
to make women of all ages want him. Well, at least this part of the 19 year old population
of Mercer University!
Reina (reina@osula.com) :
I know, I know, it wasn't as good as people expected it to be! I've heard many people
saying that...but what were y'all expecting it to be?!??! I thought it was great!
Especially the second time I saw it! I think this movie gets better every time you see it!
I especially liked the guy that played the president...what was his name??? (you know I AM
kidding...) For those of you who thought it was only good for its CGI...check it out
again. Some CGIs were not the best job they could've done, and some of the best special
effects were miniatures, not CGI. This movie was good for other reasons.
Anonymous:
Better than Twister, but still not too much plot beyond the special effects. Many people
have commented to me that they wish Bill Pullman's character was running for president
this year. Nice cameos by Brent Spiner and Harry Connick Junior.
Georgian Erickson
(gfe@digital.net):
In "Independence Day" all of the characters were great but the one that stands
out the most, in my opinion, was Bill Pullman. I have seen many of his movies but I
believe that this one shows his "dramatic" side of his acting.
Kerri
(kerri1@aztec.asu.edu):
I Loved That Movie, It Was The Best, I've Seen It Three Times, And Plan To See It Again.
Jessica
and Blanca Silva (hsilva@haven.ios.com) :
We thought this movie was GREAT!! We can't get enough of it, we've seen it 8 times! Bill
Pullman is so sexy and a great actor. The graphics were wonderful,& so was the cast.
Bill takes the cake and is an "A" list actor to us, regardless of what the
critics say. We can't wait to see other movies he stars in. Once again he's sooo sexy.
Alice
Zemaitis (azemaiti@staff.uiuc.edu):
I don't care what anyone says, I really enjoyed this movie!!! I admit if Bill Pullman
wasn't in it, I probably would NOT have seen it. I went to see it for Bill and ended up
loving the whole dang thing. I have seen it four times already each time taking different
friends and relatives and plan to see it again before it leaves the theaters. I like
movies about PEOPLE, not war, not aliens, not violence and destruction, and especially not
movies that are given so much hype, but I fell for Independence Day. It's a great ride!!
See it before it leaves the theater--it's one you have to see on the big screen!!
Samantha
Lane (cfryer@ix.netcom.com) :
This is a very wonderful movie as it is, but Bill Pullman really shines (what movie
doesn't he shine in?)
dlrs (dlrs@rmh.com):
I've seen it twice. The second time was better. The anticipation was still delicious. Bill
plays a GREAT president. Some reviewers say he's a wimp, but I don't see it at all. I see
his president as being concerned and thoughtful, but decisive in the clutch, which makes
one a great president. I saw "The American President" tonight with Michael
Douglas. All I kept thinking was "Bill would've been totally wonderful in this movie
and a lot more handsome that Douglas." Yep, this movie works for me. Great sci-fi,
end of the world stuff, great acting from everyone. But Bill, man, he was really good
here--debonair, sensitive, forceful. I'd vote for him.
Katherine XXXXX:
This was a FANTASTIC movie!!! I'd vote for Bill as President anyday even though I'm
British. When he gave that speech I had to hold on to my chair to stop myself jumping up
and cheering in the middle of the cinema!
Pip Sandrey
(psandrey@straths.strathcona.vic.edu.au):
Independence day is an awesome movie. It has an excellent cast, great special effects, and
the story line doesn't put put you to sleep. What more can you want?? There has been alot
of hype about this movie but I figure if you can hear so much about it, then go to see it
and still enjoy it then it must be great. It's up to other people whether they think it
would be for them or not, and there's no point in going to see it just to slag it and say
you didn't enjoy it afterwards. It's a sci-fi movie, so if you don't thinks it's for you,
don't go and see it!
Bravo Bill Pullman!!!!
Cynthia :
Sometimes I want to think when I see a movie and sometimes I just want to be entertained.
ID4 was entertaining. I don't care if the CGI was accurate or that it might not have
had a deep theological message. All of the actors did well and Bill Pullman was believable
and endearing as President. It was fun and left me feeling happier when I came out of the
theater than when I went in. And that's what I pay for!
Susan :
I wasn't planning on seeing this movie, but after reading an article about it in the NY
Times comparing it to 50's B flicks, I decided to give it a try.
Yup, it was pretty simplistic. But once you let your cynical, snobby veneer guard down
and remember you're in a nice cool theater during a blazing summer day, munching popcorn,
it was pretty easy going down.
Christine Tan
(art50615@leonis.nus.sg) :
WOW!!! And I thought I was crazy, seeing the movie 6x!!! Didn't let my parents know, OF
COURSE, although I saw it with them the first time. The special effects were simply
FANTASTIC, and the approach was good. Really set me thinking about the day when we
suddenly wake up to find out that "we're not alone in the universe", to use
Bill's words. The plot was pretty simplistic and the idea that the aliens could actually
be defeated by a mere virus is ABSURD!!! Also, why must aliens always be portrayed with
tentacles??? Ain't it a bit too common? And, sad to say, the spaceships looked hardly
impressive at all; they looked more like GIGANTIC pancakes to me!
Nevertheless, it's a GREAT movie full of non-stop action. Call me biased, but Bill was the reason I went to see it 5 more times. I didn 't even know who he was before! I went to see ID4. Didn't know who the actors were too. Didn't really care too, that is, until I saw Bill as the Prez. BOY! Was he superb in fleshing out the the character of his role. His well-controlled emotions stand him in good stead as the President: as a public figure in the movie, he must be compassionate yet not languish over his emotions. You could feel the extent of his remorse and sorrow when he blamed himself for the death of millions of people who died on the first day of the attack. Also, when the First Lady died, you just can't help feeling sad for him. He seemed so helpless and pitiful that my heart just went out to him. In addition, his rousing and courage-inspiring speech, delivered with such strong convictions and hope, left me rooting for him. I don't think that speech was in the least bit cheesy or a whole lot of crap; you REALLY need that kind of courage and hope in a battle that seems futile. The fact that the President, was willing to fight alongside his comrades was so touching, though in real life, it would be hard to find a Prez who can actually fly an F-14.
Overall, Bill's done a SUPERB job, looking every part the distinguished President as he
did. And this lead to "Fatal Attraction" (minus the psychotic aspect), as I
started to dig up old films he starred in, which was as good as any he had ever done. On a
more personal note, I'd like to add that that it's really heartening to know that there
are fans of Bill Pullman. I thought I was the lone fan (in Singapore, this is most
probably true), for who would know him as an actor, much less like him, a 42 year-old
who's married? But I just don't care; he's just so HANDSOME and exudes so much CHARM! Hope
he will continue making movies till old!
Becky McDonald :
I really enjoyed this movte! I saw it three times. I just can't get enough of Bill
Pullman. He's a great actor in anything he does. I jumped out of my seat at least twice
during this movie. It was just great!
Rosey (sjytyc@ms4.hinet.net)
wow! I think this movie is "COOL!" Especially Bill Pullman! He gets the most
sexy eyes and of course the most convincing role. Way to go! Billy.
Anonymous :
Action prez! He is more convincing than Bill Clinton!
Lisa Alop
(alop@u.arizona.edu) :
The moment I saw this movie I knew it would be a hit. I went back and saw it the next day
and then started going through withdrawal when I couldn't go see it again. The only thing
wrong with it was the fact that Will Smith was credited before Bill Pullman. Bill was the
movie. HE is the star, not Will Smith. Bill Pullman made this movie what it is and I hope
he finally gets the credit he deserves for being the great actor that he is.
What do you think? Is Andy Safian the new American hero?
amanda and stephanie
(norby@idx.com.au):
We are both twelve years old, and we thought the movie was excellent, we've already seen
it twice. The best actors were Bill of course and Will Smith.
regards Amanda and Stephanie!
Louise-Anne
(kevin@thehub.com.au) :
Bill Pullman is truly an asset to movie viewers all over the world. Independence Day was
fantastic and President Whitmore was portrayed as a true character considering the
consequences of such an event, (you could feel the strain of his burden in trying to make
the important choices he needed to). I have seen this movie 6 times, and hoping to see it
again soon. Each time was a new thrill and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I got goosebumps when
he presented 'that' speech and I cried when his wife died. The whole cast came together to
produce a really great film!!! I'm giving it 5 stars but you would only allow my 4 (silly
people)!!!
Jeanette Young
(jeanette@ca.com.au) :
OMIGOD - He's FANTASTIC in this!! I adored him in WYWS, watch it at least once a week,
sometimes twice, but as President Whitmore - I just went nuts over him! I am new to the
Net (only two days) and I have searched for anything on him, visited the ID4 site, and it
was "busy", but then I found this site! I love Independence Day, (even apart
from Bill). Someone said it reminded them of Star Wars 19 years ago - and that was my
feeling exactly. Sure the special effects are great, but it was the human factor in this
movie that makes it for me. Jeff Goldblum and Will Smith's scenes together in the space
ship are excellent, and I think quite a bit ad-libbed, and Bill's speech "We will not
go quietly into the night!", I could hardly contain myself! I changed my screen saver
to read "We will not go quietly into the night!", just to give myself a thrill.
But if you haven't seen ID4 - GO, GO NOW. I am in Australia and we have only had ID4 since
since August 29th, so I can see it any time I want (3 times so far), but from what I see,
you have it on video in America - can't wait for it to get here on video!
anindita
:
i love id4. it is very fantastic and also hi-tech, and i also had watched the film 3
times. Wow and still i dont feel bored. Bill Pullman was so great and so handsome in that
film, especially when they all go to pick Will Smith and Dave (i don't know what his
name), he is wearing a sunglasses at that time. Woooow he looks so cute. I think that's
enough. And i just want to say i love bill pullman. keep going.
Karen Kin
(kingku@mcmail.ca)
This movie was, without a doubt one of the best I've ever seen. The special effects were
incredible, and whoever wrote the screenplay did an excellent job as the plot and
characters were believable with real feelings and fears. Bill Pullman was great as the
President, and I'd vote for him in a minute. With his charm, good looks and acting
abilities, I can see that probably within the next year or two, he'll be one of the most
sought-after stars in the business. If only he wasn't married...........(sigh)
Alessandra
(alessandra@iserve.net.mx) :
The movie is just O.K. A lot of impressive special effects and funny lines by Will Smith,
but I really don't like aliens to be presented as mean. What do we know?
Nevertheless, I saw it twice for just one and only reason: BILL PULLMAN. (With all due
respect, Clinton shall take THOMAS WHITMORE as his role model). The second time I was
enjoying every scene in which President Whitmore appears. He gets sweet, strong,
vulnerable (I did hate the alien when it "entered" Whitmore's mind), lovable,
decisive, inspiring and credible. For me, the big merit of ID4 is that it made me discover
Bill Pullman and start a quest looking for more info and everything I could find out about
him.
Michelle Villanueva:
I loved this movie!!! It's the type of movie which makes you wanna yell "go get the
bad guys" or "way to go!" in the theater. I could watch it for 100 times
with out getting sick of it. Acting-wise it was superb! (Bill scored a perfect 10 in my
book) Jeff Goldblum, and Will Smith were awesome as well.
But then Bill was the ultimate best! after I saw this movie I waved goodbye to my long-time actor crush, Brad Pitt, and say HELLO to handsome-without the macho crap-Bill Pullman.
Anyways, the story was great, and the effects were terrific! this is a MUST see movie! [watch it at least 8 times! = )]
I Love Bill! He's absolutely adorable! ID4 the ultimate BEST!!!!
Danielle Jefferis
(RebaFan4@aol.com) :
Independence Day was the BEST movie I have seen in the whole world. I LOVED IT. I have
seen it at the theatre many times and I am planning to reserve it for when it comes out on
video. Bill Pullman was sooo cool as the president. Too bad we can't kick Bill CLINTON out
of the office and give Bill PULLMAN the job.
"In less than 2 hours the world will lauch the largest aerial battle in the
history of mankind.............The 4th of July will no longer be known as an American
holiday. It will be known as the day the world announced that WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY INTO
THE NIGHT, WE WILL NOT VANISH...WITHOUT A FIGHT...........TODAY WE CELEBRATE OUR
INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!!! !!!!!!!" - Bill Pullman..."Pep Talk" speech.
LAYLA
VALENTE (lvalente@dada.it) :
First thing first: I saw ID4 four times, so it's clear I love the film. Second:I love Bill
Pullman to the death, so it's clear that these lines are not very unbiased. But I'll try.
I think ID4 is a huge film, not a masterpiece, maybe a cult, like Blade Runner. The movie
gives you two hours and half of pure entertainment, that's what it promises and that's
what it keeps. It's not common lately, unfortunately. I've felt the same sensation I felt
after WYWS, I felt better. I don't ask for anything more. So, if you are looking for some
deep concepts, look somewhere else (this is for all the people who criticizes the film).
What else...Bill, of course!:-)))) Bill is simply the best (good in-joke!). He has my
vote, forever. He's cool, sensitive (the scenes with his wife give you a real sense of
sadness), romantic and extremely sexy. He got the low-key charm caracteristic of the great
leading - man (see Harrison Ford). When he does "that speech", I can barely sit
an my chair. My first impulse was to stand up and scream. Bill Pullman is a very good
actor and in each movies he improves himself (it's a long road from Ruthless People....),
the future looks bright ahead and I hope the best for him and his family. He can play a
wide variety of roles, with the same intensity but he shines in one in particular: the
romantic hero (see Malice, WYWS or ID4). Maybe 'cause he's a bit that way. What do you
think?
Felicia Scott
(fscott@mail.milsen.vic.edu.au)
This is the best Bill Pullman movie I have ever seen. (actually I have seen it twice). He
is the most gorgeous president that could ever have two legs. He (BILL PULLMAN) played an
excellent job in the movie and I hope that he will be prime-minister of Australia some
day.
Anita.S.
(JandASteve@aol.com) :
I don't understand how anyone out there can put Star Wars up against the best movie I
think I have ever seen, "Independence Day," none the less. Someone out there in
the movie industry had obviously done there homework on this movie. I'm sure that the
people of Rosswell, New Mexico would agree with me. I for one do not believe for an
instant that a whole community has gone bonkers. As for Bill Pullman in the movie, well,
need I say any more. He is a fabulous actor and played his part first class, in fact our
government should watch him in action, they might learn something. The entire cast did a
great job in this movie but sorry guys Bill Pullman definatelly takes my top vote. Even my
hubby enjoyed this movie, BIG COMPLIMENT folks. I don't mean to discredit Star Wars
because I like that one too but against I.D. Not a chance.
Alexandra Bruce :
I have the movie and I think It's the best movie this year I have ever seen. The computer
work was awesome! 10 stars! Bravo Will Smith! Bravo Bill Pullmen! (Who has ever seen him
so dramatic before?) Bravo Jeff Goldblum!
I would personal vote Bill Pullmen as most dramatic actor of the year! (One thing: I'm 11.) He hasen't been so dramatic before!
I would like to say one thing. Whoever hasen't seen this movie is crazy. Really
crazy!!! Trust me, it's very, very, very good!!!!!
Amber :
I loved the movie. The plot had a few holes in it. What I really liked about it was one:
Bill Pullman was in it, and two it showed us how much the goverment keeps from us and how
little the goverment knows.
I really loved Bill in the movie. Hes sooo cute! When his wife died and
when he gave his speech put me to tears. I have seen the movie 4 times and everytime I see
it I still cry.
Linda Bruce :
I thought Independence Day was the best movie I've saw this year! I'd give every Actor and
Actress 20000000000 ratings! Maybe even more to Bill Pullmen. He's totally cute! Who's
ever seen him so dramatic before? He's better than all the guys who've played The
President before! To bad he's already married (I hate that he his).
Lisa :
I wasn't going to watch Independence Day, but my son purchased the video and talked me in
to watching it. I agree that four stars aren't enough to rate this movie. Bill Pullman did
an excellent job portraying the president. He actually carried the image of a president.
All the other actors/actresses were great also, but Pullman was outstanding. While Will
Smith added humor to the movie, Bill Pullman brought it to life. He could actually
convince me that we are not alone in the universe. I hated it when his wife died, but I
guess that added the humanistic side to the job of president. Hey, I liked it so much that
I went and purchased a copy of the video for myself.
Keri Loop
(philoops@erols.com) :
I gave ID4 5 stars because President Whitmore was the best president this country could
have.
Julie (Jas51316@aol.com):
This movie absolutely rocked! The plot, while unrealistic, was excellent. Bill Pullman was
excellent as the president, Will Smith was hilarious, Jeff Goldblum was entertaining as
usual. The special effects were great, and the actors did a great job. I've seen it five
times and will see it many more. I love this movie! One of my all-time favorites! It lived
up to all the hype.
opus (opus@ipoline.com):
What can I say...an excellent movie! I must kick myself for not having the time to see in
the threatre! I've bought the video for less than a week and has watched it over 10 times.
The idea of downloading a computer virus to an alien computer system is little too far
fetch for me but the film in general is excellent...very entertaining and patriotic. I
must say Bill Pullman did an EXCELLENT job in protraying the President. He was so
effective and believable in the role that I can feel his pains and frustrations throughout
the movie. Hats off to Bill. Let's hope he will continue to play characters that are more
dramatic which will make people recognize his talents.
Rose Tapping :
After seeing While You Were Sleeping, I decided I had to see Independence Day. Bill
Pullman has got to be the most good-looking person on the planet ! Although the plot isn't
very realistic ( well, how many times have you spotted tentacle-bearing aliens invading
the earth this year ? ) it's a brilliant film and I bought the video ( and the soundtrack
and the t-shirt ) and have watched it 57 times ! My favourite scene is when the president
comes out on to the balcony and says "Address the nation, there's gonna be a lot of
frightened people out there.), he looks so darn sexy in that scene! Needless to say I'm
going to see Mr. Wrong, Spaceballs, Sleepless in Seattle now (and yes, probably 57 times
)!
Laura Bonko (LMBonko@aol.com) :
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!! When I first agreed to see it with my brother, I wasn't really
expecting much. But after getting one look at Bill, I knew I'd love the film. He is soo
sexy! I can't believe I never noticed him until ID4. I rented a bunch of his films after
seeing this, and I think he's best performance is definitely in Independence Day. He
played that role SO well. My cousin and I were actually appluading after he gave that
speech. He was wonderful in this film and really deserves an award. Great job Bill!
Jasmine
Schmidt :
This movie is the greatest sci-fi movie ever made. It beats out Star Wars beyond belief. I
recommend this movie for everyone interested in aliens and a cast of people making their
characters real to life.
Heather Spingler :
I think that this movie I have ever seen. When Bill Pullman gave his his speech it made me
wonder why we don't have a president like that. I hoped when I saw that movie our
president will react the same way to an alien encounter. Will Smith was extremely funny
but the Prez was the best. I think this movie is a must see. I don't care what most people
say this is greatest movie ever.
Chenny :
This movie is absolutely amazing. I have seen it five times and I am going to see it
again. This is the best movie I've ever seen in my life. Bill Pullman is really a great
man, HE IS THE GREATEST MAN EVER!!!!
Justine :
Independence Day is the best film, which I have seen. I want to see Independence Day 2. I
like Bill Pullman. He is a good actor in ID4. Bravo all the people who were actors in ID4
and bravo all the other people from ID4!
anastasia
(anastasia.b.karlova@nacka.mail.telia.com) :
I fell in love with Bill in this one and now I am a BIG Bill Pullman fan. I think that he
is the most talented actor in the world, and the most handsome actor in the world. The
movie was great, but Bill made it much better.
Lanae Pullman:
Bill Pullman is the greatest!!! this movie is terrific!! i saw it nine times in the
theater and watch it all the time now that i have it on video!!! there was only one cheesy
thing and thats when Boomer jumps to safety when Los angelas is on flames!! any way Bilkl
is a conivncing President although his hair was too slik looking. i love his hair in While
you Were Sleeping and i wanted to get up and yell when they fianlly after beating the
aliens let his hair go, but then they moosed back!!! any way he was great, loved, still
love him... can't wait to see his next movie Lost Highway!! the president's sppech was
WONDERFUL!!! half the theater got up and cheered including myself!!! keep making the best
Bill!!!!!!
Shauna Mckellar :
Bill Pullman was great in this movie. Did you know that Bill gave up a leading role in for
the movie volcano! too bad he couldn't have been in Independence Day and Volcano!
Tabitha
:
I fell in love with that movie. I knew who Bill Pullman was, but wasn't a fan until I saw
ID4. I saw it about seven times at the movie theater, and then I went on to buy it. I
recommend it to everyone.
Ken Lin (JayKL@hotmail.com)
:
I went to watch this movie as my friends told me that this was an explosive show. I went
in expecting that and I came out impressed, especially with the prez, Bill Pullman. That
show made me realise that he is a superb actor. I was attracted to his sexy smile and
eyes. And he was SO convincing as the prez. His acting was great, esp.in the scene where
he walks out of the hospital room after the death of the first lady. So touching, and it
left a tear in my eye. After watching this movie I went on a shopping spree, looking for
all of his movies and stuff on him. But it's tough getting his posters in Malaysia. Wish
me luck!
Jasmine Schmidt :
Simply put, this movie deserves better than four stars. If I could count all the stars in
the sky, that's how many I would put for this rating. But since there is only four stars,
that's what I'll give. Thanks for your cooperation.
Heather :
This movie is fantastic!! Bill Pullman is absolutely gorgeous! My heart stops every time I
see his face. When I got this movie for Christmas I only wanted it because I thought it
was a cool movie. THEN I discovered Bill. I now watch this movie (along with Spaceballs
and While You Were Sleeping) at least twice every day just to see him!! I was so overjoyed
when I found this site. (Especially the pictures!) I now regard it as my own personal
heaven and one of my favorite places on the net. Anyway, Independence Day is great, and to
a HUGE Bill Pullman fan like myself, it's one of the best movies ever made! Of course, all
of the rest of the Bill Pullman movies are right up there, too!
Sarah Lopez :
This movie is what started my interest in his acting, he's absolutely remarkable, just a
mouthful of talent! Not to mention his sexy, brown eyes. Any other actor or actress able
to costar in a movie or play with him, is extremly lucky and had better be gracious about
it! I am starting a career myself in the performing arts .

his movie kept me on my toes-- Plus, Bill Pullman was the president! I think Will Smith
and Jeff Goldblum did a great job and this was a great break for them. Of coarse, Bill
Pullman was the most impressive actor. He played the most intelligent, most courageous,
and by far the cutest president the United States has ever seen!

Fantastic movie, and Bill is brilliant as the President. He is stunning.
Pamela :
I am in love with the president. He is cool, and calm, but he thinks well before he acts,
and acts without giving up. I think that's the character every president should have. Bill
Pullman is the best in this movie. I watched it three times just to stare at him.

I simply love Independence Day. It's the best out of all the science fiction movies I've
seen. This was the first Bill Pullman movie that I saw and I love it. Bill Pullman looks
really young and handsome in it. I watched this movie with my father at least 9 times over
and over again. I love the speech which Bill delivers in front of the millitary crowd
before Captain Hiller and Levinson take off to the mother speech. I know this speech by
heart and I think that it is the best possible speech any president can deliver. Ever
since I saw Independence Day I wanted to see more of Bill's movies. Recently I watched
While you were Sleeping and Casper. Both of them were great! Bill is definitly my
favourite actor and I love him. Actually I think I am mad to be crazy over Pullman who is
a 42 year old married man when I am only 13 years of age. My friends think that I am nuts.
They are probably right! But I can't help liking him for he looks soooooo young and
Handsome. Even though Bill is 42 he actually looks like he is 25 or something. I don't
care! I will always like Bill Pullman cos he's the best out of all!
Meagan :
I'd give this movie more stars if I could but I can't. This is absolutely the best movie
ever! I've seen it over 300 times (no lie!) since it came out on November 22 of last year.
Bill Pullman did a wonderful as always. I first fell in love with when I saw it for the
first time!
Stacie :
I agree with some of you Bill Pullman is the hottest actor I have ever seen. I what ID
every chance I get just to see his face. I wish I could get his address so I can write to
him. I wish I could also get a full legnth poster for my bedroom so I can look at him
every second of every day. Bill, if you read this send me your address!!!!!!

Independence Day is the best film I have seen in years. I had so much fun watching it. It
is funny, scary, sad, & the special effects are outstanding! This is the film that
brought Bill Pullman to my attention and made me a fan of his. His performance as
President was great. The book by Dean Devlin, Roland Emmerich & Stephen Molstad
follows the movie almost perfectly but it has more dialogue & detail and so for true
ID fans I'd recommend reading it.
