Nancy (Fiveborzoi@aol.com): Absolutely terrific. Night Visions is a program that wants to surprise its viewers at the end and View Through the Window did exactly what it was intended to do. Mr. Pullman pulled it off again. |

I sat down to watch Bill's episode of the Night Vision series feeling just a tad
apprehensive. After seeing that vodoo episode last week I wasn't sure whether I was ready
for another nerve jarring experience. But watching The View Through A Window I realized
that my fears were unfounded, for in this part of the series we were treated to a story
that was more suspenseful and mysterious than scary. I think everyone who saw The Virginian last year was convinced that Bill knows his stuff, whether he is working behind the camera or in front of it, and those who weren't convinced, now most certainly are. Bill has proven us once again that he is not just a successful actor with a great deal of dramatic and comedic talent, but also a sure handed, capable director who knows how to present a story to keep his audience on the edge of their seats. I was glued to mine the whole time, with my heart thumping in my chest as the suspense was building, and later with a big smile on my face, until the surprise ending, which would've really freaked me out, have I not been aware of the nature of the series. I felt like screaming and laughing at the same time, and I did both. So I have to say I loved the episode. It was mysterious, intense, deliciously freaky, and we were even treated to a bit of romance. I could not take my eyes off the beautiful scenery inside the "barrier", and marvelled at the way the special effects were done. I also have to admit, I couldn't take my eyes off Bill either, who must have discovered the fountain of youth somewhere, for in his 47th year he looked as handsome, charming and alluring - if not more - as all those years ago when we first spotted him on the big screen. It was a great show. A fantastic story, good acting, skillful directing, and plenty of beautiful close ups on Bill, which were no doubt appreciated by every single Bill loving soul on the face of the planet. Well done! |
| dlrs@rmh.com: Ordinarily, I don't watch horror shows, but this entered more of the realm of sci-fi. The story was simple enough and told with great effect. Good stuff here. |
